PETRICHOR-SR.

“ A tapestry of emotions, creativity, imagination and camaraderie that binds us together.”

The English Club, Petrichor, aims to provide a platform to young, aspiring students, who have a flair for the language and look forward to hone their communication and language skills to become future-ready global leaders.

 Vision :

We envision and aspire to forge students with a clear cosmopolitan vision and speech, enthused with focussed and stalwart grit. We sweat to create a liberal platform where the students turn out to be forgetive and armed to adorn the global dais sure-footedly.

Objectives:

1. The primary objective of our English club is to provide students with a platform to practice and improve their English language skills. This can be achieved through various activities such as debates, presentations, and discussions in English.

2. The club encourages students to read and write more in English. This can be done through book discussions, storytelling sessions, and creative writing activities.

3. It helps students become more confident and proficient in spoken English. Group discussions, role plays, and oral presentations can be organized to develop effective communication skills.

4. It exposes students to different cultures and perspectives by organizing events related to literature, films, and art in English-speaking countries. This can help broaden their understanding of the world and promote cultural sensitivity.

5. It provides opportunities for students to work collaboratively on projects and activities. This can help develop teamwork and leadership skills, as students may take on roles such as event organizers, moderators, or team leaders.

6.  The club is to create a welcoming and inclusive space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves in English. This can help build confidence and reduce language barriers.

7.  It organizes debates, critical analysis of literature, and problem-solving activities to develop students' critical thinking and analytical skills.

3. The Declamation competition was a testament to the power of speech in persuading, converting, and compelling others. It highlighted the importance of healthy competition in motivating students and bringing out their best efforts. Through their speeches, the students showcased their awareness of current issues and offered insightful perspectives. They demonstrated not only their public speaking skills but also their ability to analyze and articulate their thoughts. These young voices have the potential to become future leaders in shaping our society.

4. In the English club, Petrichor Club, it is believed that words have the power to heal, inspire and connect. On 21st August 2023, we aimed to foster a love for poetry on Poet's Day and create an environment when members of Petrichor expressed themselves through this beautiful art form. They got immersed in a day filled with words, emotions and the magic of poetry.
