The favourite part of the game is ‘the opportunity to play’.
At Shiva, many subjects are taught primarily in the classroom; Sports and Physical Education provide a great opportunity for children to heed outside, stay active/expend endless energy they have and focus on developing different skills. Students develop the five S's of sports: stamina, speed, strength, skill and spirit. Here at Shiva, Sports and Yoga go hand in hand. Yoga builds core strength and Sports positively impacts students in their academic progression and beyond. Students learn dedication, determination and self-discipline while playing games, helping them to convert their dreams into reality.
Mornings are considered a good kick start and an excellent sign for the rest of the day. Morning sessions conducted by teachers boost students' metabolism and accelerate their energy levels. Hence Shivians produce the best results.
Each day witnesses something spectacular happening in the playground. Children play ‘Kho-Kho’ passing their responsibility on others and the bearers try to meet the challenge. Players swing the ‘hula hoop’. They compete among themselves to see who can sustain the hoop the longest. While playing basketball, they set goals, and smash them making everyone feel proud when they see the basketball players replacing the excuses with efforts, laziness with determination and the ball falling into the right place. When students jump while skipping, they feel a little closer to the sky.
The list doesn't end here. The institution has birthed players who have earned medals in Badminton and Taekwondo too.
